TRUMPET | GUITAR | BASS GUITAR

About Scott:

Since 2004, Scott has worked as a full time instructor/performer, teaching hundreds of students. As trumpet guitar and bass instructor at Ridenhour Music in Virginia, his high retention and referral rates gave him one the busiest schedule (50-60 weekly students) of any staff instructor. Scott’s students have appeared in concerts and competitions throughout the Roanoke valley.

Seeing a lack of performance opportunities for his young students, Scott regularly arranged student performances at local venues, attended by family, friends and open to the general public.

“I believe in a practical approach to music education. . . “

Students can expect to learn the music they listen to alongside the standard repertoire. Reading, writing and improvising are all necessary skills on every instrument. Students will have the opportunity to dig inside the music they listen to, see how it works, and apply those concepts (music theory) to their own playing.

It may sound complicated, but it’s alot easier than it sounds, and we’ll have plenty of fun making music along the way!

A practical approach to learning music.

New students will frequently be playing a song within weeks, and be ready to jam with their friends by the end of the first month!

Experienced students can take their playing to the next level. Don’t just learn how to play chords and scales, learn how to use them to realize your own musical vision!
