Hey just wanted to let you know how everythings going. Im marching in Salem High School's marching band right now. I am 1 of 3 total freshman in Symphonic band( a class that i auditioned for) and the only freshman trumpet player. We(the marching band) won our first competition, but there was only one other band in our group. We scored i think in the mid 70's. So i've been improving alot but symphonic band is certainly a challenge. I'll keep you posted on what goes on. Hope school is good for you.

I am the mother of Amelia Witter, age 14, who has taken guitar lessons from Scott Kulick for the past 6 years. When she started lessons at the age of 8, she had only a basic understanding of music. Amelia had asked for 2 years to take guitar lessons before I took her to meet Scott at Ridenhour Music. He evlauated her and said she was ready to start lessons.

Since that time, Amelia has grown tremendously under Scott's instruction. Scott was able to effectively teach Amelia to play guitar along with an appreciation for music. Scott has always designed public performance opportunities for his students. I have seen Amelia's confidence grow with each performance.

Amelia competed in the 2009 4-H Share the Fun talent contest. Not only did she progress from the local level to the district level, she won the blue ribbon for instrumental music. Amelia was asked to perform at the closing ceremony where she was awarded a purple ribbon "Best in Show".

I cannot thank Scott enough for all he has done for Amelia over the last 6 years. All of his students are fortunate to have him as their teacher. He has a tremendous knowledge of music and freely conveys it to his students. Scott is a dedicated teacher and all who study under him in the future will benefit greatly. He will be missed in Virginia.

Scott is one of the best teachers I have ever worked with. He has a fun way of making music engaging and always interesting. Scott was always ready to offer help to me, and answer any questions I had. His teaching covered a wide spectrum of musical subjects, including the all-important performance opportunities. His past 6 years of teaching have really changed my life in more ways than just music. Scott has taught me that carefully preparing, practicing, working hard, and believing in yourself are the most important aspects of music. Scott has taught me most importantly to relax and have fun playing music, and to never, ever, stop reaching for the stars.

I remember in a band intro class in 6th grade, our band director called me up to try to play the trumpet. That was when i knew it was my thing. Im glad i got to take lessons with scott. I doubt i will ever find as good a trumpet teacher as scott because he gets you involved im performances and gives you an initial idea of what its really like. And I also appreciate how he didnt just teach me by the music, he also taught improv. Scott, good luck im new york!

I took guitar lessons from another teacher 4 years ago and hated it. Two years ago I started up again taking from Scott and I love guitar so much more than I did. Thanks for the good times!

Three years ago i remember going to a yard sale. At that yard sale i got an ok First Act guitar for sixty five dollars. In my almost four years with Scott he has been able to transform myself from only being able to strum random notes to playing through a song perfectly.

Who knows where I would be without Scotts guidance.

For the past six years I have instructed hundreds of music students in Salem and Christiansburg, VA. I can truly say that I've learned as much as I've taught. Thank you all!
