The Student Performance at Awful Arthurs in Salem, VA (originally scheduled for Saturday 12/19) has been rescheduled.

The Performance will be Saturday January 2, 2010. All of the details from the previous performance will be the same (setup @ 12:00, student check in @ 1:00, perform @ 2:00-4:00, break down after).

Any students who will be unable to perform on Saturday January 2, 2010 should contact me ASAP.
Any students/groups who wish to get together for an extra rehearsal should also contact me ASAP.

Due to the (obvious) road conditions, today’s performance will have to be POSTPONED.

In light of all of the hard work that everyone has put into this concert, I will be doing my best to reschedule it during the upcoming two weeks.

Thank you again for all of your hard work.

Remember, Monday December 21 will be the final opportunity to make up lessons missed in 2009 in Salem.  There will be a Christiansburg Makeup day on Monday December 28.

Come see the Big Lick Brass Band on a parade float in Downtown Roanoke Friday December 11 @ 6:30pm, then join us for the after party at Blues BBQ (107 Market St. Roanoke) @ 10pm.

Dress Rehearsal

Saturday December 12 @ Ridenhour Music (2 W. Main St. Salem VA 24153)

• The dress rehearsal will begin at 12:00pm and last until it is finished (2:30pm).
• Students should arrive at least 5 minutes early with all necessary music and equipment (instruments, cables, etc), tuned and ready to perform at 12:00.
  • Anyone who wishes to bring effect/distortion pedals, be sure that you can set up and operate your pedal quickly. We won’t have time to go over operating pedals during this rehearsal. Also make sure to bring an extra cable to hook up your pedal and that it has sufficient batteries.
• Students will remain quiet and attentive while listening to other groups, applauding at the end of songs.

Performance

Saturday December 19 @ Awful Arthurs (302 W Main St Salem, VA 24153)

• 12:00 – Setup Time: Any students who will be providing amps and assisting in stage setup should arrive at 12.
  
• 1:00 – Call time: All students should arrive by 1:15 to warm up, tune up, and prepare their own music & equipment.
• 2:00 – Performance Time:
  • Performance order (and specific times) will not be available until the morning of the performance.
  • Please be beside the stage with your instrument out by the last song of the group before yours.
  • Students are asked to stay until the end to support their peers.
  • Don’t forget to have fun, that’s what it’s all about!
• 3:45 – Breakdown: Students who don’t set up will be assigned equipment to break down and pack up.

Remember, since these group rehearsals take the place of normal lessons for the week of December 7-12, attendance is mandatory. Only students who are not participating will have their regularly scheduled lessons (and should appear on the schedule).

Student groups are welcome to request a rehearsal room any time during the week. Simply eMail me your with request at least a day in advance. Makeup lessons can be requested during available times during the week of 12/7-12/10.
